Detailed
Description
Hebrew grammatical work in Italian with occasional Hebrew and examples by R. Leon di Zaccaria Reggio. The full title is Grammatica Ragionata della Lingua Ebraica. Beautifully set in an attractive font on fine paper, Grammatica Ragionata has an approbation from R. Aludadio Zamorani, R. Abram A. Tedeschi, and R. Felice Cavalieri, directors of the Academia Rabbinica in Ferrara. There is a preface, followed by the text. Grammatica Ragionata covers the rules and etymology of the Hebrew language.

R. Leon di Zaccaria Reggio was an Italian rabbi; born at Ferrara in 1808; died there Sept. 23, 1870; son of R. Zaccaria Reggio, chief rabbi of Ferrara. At the age of twenty he became a teacher in the Talmud Torah there, and at the death of his father succeeded to the rabbinical chair. In addition to Grammatica Ragionata della Lingua Ebraica, he was also the author of "Elementi di Ortologia della Lingua Ebraica," ib. 1844; "Sefat Leshon ha-Kodesh," a manual for the practical study of Hebrew, ib. 1860; and "Dine Shehitah u-Bedikah."
