| Title: Order of service to be used in the Synagogues of London on the occasion of making collections for the "Metropolitan Hospital Sunday Fund"...
Hebrew and English service bestowing gratitude and blessings on the generous donors to the Hospital fund. The Metropolitan Hospital-Sunday Fund was established in 1873 when the Lord Mayor of London invited religious and hospital leaders to a meeting at the Mansion House.
Appalled by the effect of inadequate housing and poor sanitation on impoverished Londoners, they decided that on one day each year, in places of worship throughout Greater London, a collection should be made towards improving the health of Londoners. |
