Only edition of these discourses on halakhah and aggadah by R. David ben Meir Schlessinger. R. Schlessinger served as rabbi in Kraskava and Kremzberg. On the verso of the title page is an approbation from R. Nahum Treibitsch of Nikolsberg followed by R. Schlessinger’s introduction. R. Schlessinger begins that it certainly was not his intent to be an author and to write anything. However, the influence of his son was greater than his intent, nullifying his original thought. His son, Zevi Hirsch, desired to go overseas and sought from him some of his Torah to be an intercessor for him on the way. Therefore R. Schlessinger prepared this work and entitled it Zeidah la-Derekh (“provision for the way” Genesis 42:25, 45:21). The text is set in a single column in rabbinic type.
