Commentary to R. Abraham ibn Ezra's grammatical work by Dr. Gabriel Hirsch Lippmann, German rabbi; born at Memmelsdorf, Bavaria; died at Kissingen May 26, 1864. He went in his early youth to Burgpreppach, where he studied the Talmud under R. Abraham Moses Maylaender. He continued his studies at the yeshivah at Fuerth and, under the guidance of Chief Rabbi Hillel Sondheimer, at Aschaffenburg; he received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Wuerzburg. He then accepted a call as preacher to Aurich, and later became district rabbi in Kissingen.
Lippmann was the editor of: "Sefer Zahot. Ueber die Feinheiten der Hebraeischen Sprache. Grammatische Forschungen von Abraham ibn Esra.
