|
Typed report by someone who worked as an intern in the Jewish orthodox "Home for Apprentices for Emigrant's Children" (Lehrlingsheim fuer Emigrantenkinder) as well as in the "Office of the Basle Aid for Emigrant's Children" (Bureau der Basler Hilfe fuer Emigrantenkinder). The Home for Apprentices was led by Rabbi Stern and his wife; Rabbi Stern was himself a refugee from Germany.
The "Home for Apprentices" was home for 40 girls and boys aged 15 to 17 who had managed to emigrate to Switzerland, often without their parents. The report speaks about the situation of the young people. The report was written during the war, most likely in 1941 as this date is mentioned in the text.
