Description		    210 ff., small folio, 277:194 mm., wide margins, light age and damp staining, lower part of title in facsimile. A very good copy bound in modern half leather and marbled paper boards. Extremely rare, few copies of this full sized mahzor have survived.

Description		    Liturgies for the entire year following the Italian Rite, includes the Haggadah, Avot, etc. Originally called the Minhag Romi, later the Italian rite, which with the expansion of Roman Jewry became widely established in Italy and in one or two places overseas and was the parent of the Ashkenazi rite. The formulation of this is associated with the name of R. Menahem b. Solomon b. Isaac (12th cent.), author of the popular Midrash Sekhel Tov. The rite, also called Minhag ha-Lo'azim, is in use in Rome, in the interior of Italy, in a few communities in Salonika and Constantinople, and also in the Italian synagogue in Jerusalem.
          
Paragraph 2    ... כמנהג ק"ק רומה. עם מורה מקום מהפסוקים ועם פירוש למסכת אבות מהנר המערבי הרמב"ם... והוספנו בו פירוש... רש"י... אשר לא נדפס אצלנו עד הנה. גם הפרשיות וההפטרות מנוקדים... בשם הסופר כמ"ר מאיר יצ"ו בכמ"ר אפרים זצ"ל מפדובה... ע"י יעקב כהן מגאזולו... חלק א-ב.

בשער: ותהי ראשית מלאכתו בימי חנוכה שי"ז. קולופון: ותהי השלמתו בר"ח סיון שנת ש"ך. על פי ההוצאה הראשונה של מחזור בני רומא, שונצינו-קזאל מיורי רמ"ו, בשנויים מעטים ובהוספות, כגון מגלת אנטיוכוס (דף לב,ב-לג,ב), וידוי לשכיב מרע (דף רד,א). מסכת אבות יצאה גם בהדפסה מיוחדת, עם שער מיוחד: "מסכת אבות... דפוס יקומו רופינילו, בימי הפורים שנת ש"ך". פירוש רש"י לאבות שנדפס כאן הוא בנוסח מיוחד (המדפיסים סברו שזו ההדפסה הראשונה של פירוש רש"י). עיין עליה: מא"ז קינסטליכר, מבוא לפירוש רש"י אבות, בתוך: מסכת אבות עם פירוש רש"י, בני ברק תשנ"ב, עמ' יא-טו. בראש פרק ששי של מסכת אבות (דף פה, ב): "על פרק זה לא נמצא פירוש להרמב"ם... ופי' הנמצא במחזורים על פרק זה הוא לרש"י ז"ל כי כן נתיחס אליו בהרבה ספרים ישנים כתובי יד... הרחבנו בבאורו יותר מאשר היה בראשונה מאשר העתקנו מספרים שונים". הפירוש לפרק ששי הנדפס כאן, המיוחס לרש"י, דומה מאוד לפירוש הנדפס במחזור ויטרי, המיוחס לר' יעקב ב"ר שמשון. ידועים טפסים על קלף.
