Description		    Addressed t the Hida by R. Elijah b. Raphael Solomon Segal haLevi (1713-1792), rabbi of Alessandra. R. Elijah was accepted to this position at the age of 25 and served for over 50 years. His name is frequently found in contemporary works such as the Soshanim la-David, Pahad Yizhok, and others. The Hida writes that he saw 20 manuscripts in R. Elijah's home and gives their names, however only one was printed long after his passing (Leghorn 1893).
