Detailed Description |
|
Rare German study of and attack on antisemitism by an apparently anonymous author who uses the pseudonym Einim Christian. In fact, it appears that the author was actually Ernst Braune (not to be confused with the noted photographer). The book begins with a lengthy quote from Shakespeare’s the Merchant of Venice concerning the pound of flesh. Die Juden discusses various issues and incidents in Jewish history and the importance of and contribution to history of the Jews. A search of Der Juden as title and and Einem Christen as author did not reveal copies in any major American libraries. A copy was located, however, in the HeBIS, Union Catalog Hesse.
