On the never resolved, to this day, issue of carrying on the Sabbath in New York City. Many responsa, pro and con, have used reams of paper to opine on the subject. This work by R. Joshua b. Moses Joseph Siegal (1846-1910) which permitted carrying in New York City on the Sabbath was refuted, after his passing, by Hilkhta Rabbete le-Shabate (Brooklyn 1910) by R. Judah David b. Nathan Bernstein (b. 1863) a rabbi in Brownsville. |
