Detailed Description |
|
Family letter to his daughter and son-in-law by R. Hayyim Saul b. Elijah HaKohen Dvek (1858-1933). He was born and raised in Aleppo and came to Jerusalem in 1890. R. Dvek joined the kabbalistic Bet El Yeshiva where he studied for many years. He wrote seven works on kabbalah, several have been published. Several years after arriving in Jerusalem he contracted an eye disease which eventually blinded him. He was fluent in all of R. Hayyim Vital's works by rote.
The verso contains a letter in Ashkenazic script written to his daughter with much historical information on Egypt. |
