Only edition of this multi-faceted book on Judaism for the bar mitzvah boy by R. Leib ben Moses Hazazan. Among the contents are Judaism, Orah Hayyim, festivals, moral values, Shabbat, zemirot, biblical stories and personalities, Jewish history, the Jewish communities of Poland, Zionism and Erez Israel, Jewish literature and verse, and material directly pertaining to the bar mitzvah. There are pages of illustrations, one with two famous paintings, that of Isadore Kaufman showing a rebbe testing a Hasidic by and below it a painting from A. Bendemin of al Naharot Bavel. Another page has an photograph of Stark Avivi’ portrayal of a Yemenite teacher and student. Two facing pages have four illustrations of a copper plate of Passover seder of Portuguese Jews in Amsterdam, the menorah of the Ba’al Shem Tov, putting on teffilin in the kibbutz Rodges, and a painting by the renowned artist M. Oppenheim of a Heder in Germany.
