Seventy-five year calendar for the years 5549–5624 by R. Aaron ben Israel Broda, to which is appended Nahara u-Fashta by R. Hayyim ben Israel Broda, the latter work being on customs. The title page, written by the author’s son, states that his father wrote the calendar until the end of the world and that he, the son, has published the calculations for only seventy-six years. Arranged here are all the parshiyot, Rosh Hodesh, festivals, and times, the molad and cycles, concerning cold and hot, rain and snow, winds, summer and winter, etc. Included are dates of shemtiah, the destruction of the first and second Temples, fast days for zadikkim, the days that are best for bloodletting and which are dangerous, also the days that it is hazardous to travel alone on the way, as well as the favorable days to attend fairs.He concludes with the prayer that all of this should not be needed, but that this year should be the end of our troubles and that we should witness the coming of the Messiah. There is an introduction from R. Nissin, son of the author and av bet din in Radon. The text is comprised of the tables. The volume concludes with Nahara u-Fashta.
R. Aaron ben Israel Broda (second half of the 17th century) also wrote Tekumah, a digest in rhymed prose of the laws of the Shuhan Arukh, of which only the section on Even ha-Ezer, Even Ẓiyyon be-Mishpat, was published (Shklov, 1784; complete edition by his son Nissim, Vilna, 1818).
