Description
Beautifully illustrated introductory reader book on Hebrew phonetics by I. Rosenthaler. The title page describes Illustrierte Hebräische Lesefibel as Nach den Grundsätzen der Anschauung und der Phonetik (According to the principles of opinion and the phonetics). It describes Rosenthaler as a teacher in the Realschule der Isr. Religionsgesellschaft in Frankfort. The title page is followed by an introduction and forward, a table of contents, several pages of detailed pictures of a bird, a woman leading a laden donkey, a dog with small forest animals, a woman sitting by the stove reading (the bible?) and a table mounted time piece. This is followed by the letters of the Hebrew alphabet with – through page 26 – an illustration on the top of the page. From page 27 through 38 are more complex reading assignments concluding with biblical readings and some benedictions. Next is a review appendix (39) and from p. 40 to the end are reading assignments in Hebrew with translation in Vayber taitsche.
