First edition of this comprehensive work on weights and measurements in the Talmud and poskim by R. Meir (Mayer) ben Samuel ha-Levi Klein (d. 1944). The title page describes the contents as clarifying all the measurements, weights, times, and the meausres dependent upon them brought in the Talmud and poskim, early and later sages. Their equivalency in contemporary measures, all arranged alphabetically in four sections. They are for measures; weights, including coins; dry and liquid measures, and times. At the end of the table are two fold out charts of times until the end of the sixth millennium. Berurei ha-midot ve-ha-Shi’urin has approbations from R. Samuel Engel and R. Mordecai Leib Winkler. Next is an introduction from R. Klein followed by a four page – three columns to a page - index of the contents, this indicative of how thorough is Berurei ha-midot ve-ha-Shi’urin. The text is in two columns in rabbinic type.
