Detailed
Description		    Letter by R. Jerahmiel Moses b. Jehiel Jacob Hopstein (1860-1909), Admor of Kozienice. Orphaned at age six when his father drowned while attempting to dip in a raging river, the Rebbe was raised by his grandfather Rebbe Elimelech. After his mother remarried to a son of Rebbe Aaron of Karlin he followed his mother to Stolin where he absorbed much of the Stolin-Karlin teachings. Being the only direct descendant of R. Israel of Kozienice, he was selected Rebbe in 1884. An erudite scholar with love and compassion for his brethren, he attracted thousands of disciples. The Rebbe had a deep devotion to Erez Israel and supported settlers with huge sums of money. Very little of his writings have survived. He passed on at the age of 49 and his body was returned to Kozienice for burial.
