Detailed Description |

Full responsa by R. Zevi Hirsch Rabinowitz b. R. Isaac Elhanan Spektor (1848-1910), Kovno Rav. R. Zevi Hirsch was born in Nesvizh and educated by his illustrious father and Lithuanian yeshivot. Initially he tried his hand unsuccessfully at business and Mitava, Latvia, followed by Vilna and finally replaced his father in Kovno. An erudite scholar with a sharp mind he addressed many responsa. No known works survive except for two pamphlets: Kehker Zaddik (Berdichev 1897) eulogy for his father, and Tokhhat Megillah (Mainz 1876) polemical responsa forbidding the use of Corfu etrogim. Some of his teachings appear in his father's works and other period rabbinic literature. |
