Description		    Hasidic discourses on the weekly Torah readings by R. David ben Zevi Elimelekh Shapira. The title page describes the author as the admor, light of the world, kodesh kadoshim, the pure menorah, and noting that he was av bet din in Dynov. On the verso of the title page is a brief introduction from R. Shamai Silbermann of Bukowsko, who brought the book to press. There are letters (approbations) from R. Isaac Semelkes and R. Menahem Mendel Rokeah of Dynov. The text follows in to columns in rabbinic type. After the Torah portion of Zemah David are addenda and then, with a separate title page, likkutim on parashot and several festivals.

Author R. David ben Zevi Elimelekh Shapira (1822-74) was the son of and successor to the famed R. Zevi Elimelekh of Dunov. He became rebbe in 1851, although many of his father’s adherents followed his brother R. Eliezer of Lancut. R. David was succeeded in turn n Dynov by one of his sons, R. Isaiah Naphtali Hirtz. His other sons were R. Zevi Elimelekh, rabbi in Blazova, and R. Meir Judah in Bukovsk.
