Detailed Description |
|
This volume is labelled "Part 2". Part 1 was published in 1925. The subtitle describes this book as a geographic chrestomathy, with chapters describing various natural and man-made wonders of the world. For example, the chapter on Sicily focuses on its volcanoes and earthquakes. The author is also the author of Der zig bam Dnyeper (Moscow, 1932) and Di Yidishe avtonome gegnt (Moskow, 1939).
The Yiddish follows the Soviet model, however the 5 final letters are utilized in the spelling of words. Hebrew words are spelled with numerous extra letters to satisfy Yiddish pronunciations. |
