A history of music in the Bible, as well as a study of Jews and music by Peter Joseph Schneider (1810-1837), who is also the author of Die musik und poesie (Bonn, 1835). The text is in German, with an occasional note or phrase in Hebrew. There are handwritten notes and underlinings in pencil. A scholarly bibliography is included.
