Detailed
Description
Munificent collection of fifty-five numbered artistic monochrome cards representing biblical scenes, all representing the work of the renowned artist D. Mastroianni. The depictions are photographs of detailed sculptures, all in the order of their occurrence in the Bible. The first image “the work of God” (Gen. 1-27) depicts a large hand releasing a man and woman in a verdant garden. Next are “Tree of knowledge of good and evil” (Gen. II-9) showing the young Adam and Eve facing a snake entwined around a tree; “the[y] heard the voice of God” (Gen. III-8) depicting the couple, looking older and forlorn, sitting in front of the tree; and “He drove out them (sic) from the Garden of Eden” (Gen. III-24), depicting Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden with an angel holding a sword behind them. These detailed stylized pictures continue illustrating biblical scenes, concluding with “Sussana (Apogr. Susanna – 21). Each picture has an English and Hebrew description below the image and the signature of Mastroianni and the card number in the lower right hand corner.
