Detailed
Description
Document signed by R. Jubah b. Obed ibn Attar (1725–1812), grandson of R. Judah ibn Attar, dayyan in Fez. Among other works he wrote Zikaron li-Benei Yisrael, on the persecution of the Jews in Morocco during 1790–1792. Several excerpts from this work have been published. Co-signed are R. Saul Abraham ibn Zimra and R. Solomon Abitbol. The Abitbol family of Morocco was comprised of rabbis, dayyanim, talmudists, and jurists, who led the community of Sefrou. They are referred to in many Moroccan documents (responsa, collections of letters, etc.), mostly unpublished. Some of R. Solomon's responsa were published as Minhat ha-Omer (1950).
