Detailed Description |

R. Julius Gershon Neumann (d. 2006) was the Rabbi of Congregation Zichron Moshe for 57 years. He nurtured and served three generations of beloved congregants. He served as Commissioner of Human Rights under Mayors Wagner and Lindsay. R. Neumann was a member and Secretary of the Board of Visitors of Manhattan State Hospital under Governors Harriman and Rockefeller. He was a staunch supporter of the State of Israel, and was honored for his tireless efforts on behalf of UJA, Federation of Jewish Philanthropies, Israel Bonds, Soviet Jewry and countless Yeshivot and Rabbinical Institutions. He left a moral and ethical legacy: his life of Tzedakah (righteous acts) and Chessed (loving kindness). |
