Detailed
Description
Historical novel written from a religious perspective in Hebrew translated from German by Sofer Mahir. The author name is not given on the title page. The Bibliography of the Hebrew Book gives the author name as Sarah bat Samson Raphael Hirsch, writing under the pseudonym of Friedrich Rott and, after her marriage, as Gugenehim. The Bet Eked Sefarim records Galgal ha-Hozer with R. Ezekiel Lipschitz (c. 1850-1932) as the author. However, this seems questionable, R. Lipschitz having served from 1902 until his death as Rabbi of Kalish head of the Yeshiva Committee. The text is in a single column in square letters.
