Teitelbaum was appointed rabbi of Targu Lapusului (Lapus) in 1882 or 1884 and served for over 50 years. An erudite scholar, pious Jew, orator, he founded and led a very successful Yeshiva in Targu Lapusului. He was the editor of the Yismah Moshe (homilies and Psalms) and added notes to both works.

He was survived by his sons R. Abraham Hayyim, rabbi of Krenice; R. Yitzhak Shmuel; and R. Yekutiel Yehudah, who survived the Holocaust and was rabbi of the Bikkur Bourn Anshei Sefard in the Bronx. He edited Tefillah LeMosheh (Lvov, 1885) and Yeitev Lev (Sighet, 1875).
