Detailed
Description
Permission to remarry granted by the bet din of Bratislavia. This document has the stamp of the bet din with the added title of takkanot le-agunot. The details of the document concerns Margot bat Levinger, to be married to Alfred Gutfreund. The latter is permitted to marry according to the laws of Moses and Israel and he accepts upon himself and signs his name that if his first wife was to returns he will conduct himself with her as if she was divorced and divide their money and property according to halakhah. The rav, ha-mesader Kiddushin is required to warn the man and his wife as to these obligations. Furthermore, if his first wife returns prior to the marriage this document is nullified. The last line of the document concludes that to marry the sister of his wife requires a specific heter, suggesting that Margot is the sister of his absent (lost) wife. Gutfreund signs at the bottom in both Hebrew and English.
