This Yiddish volume of Hasidic legends contains "stories of our Holy Rabbis...the Besht (Baal Shem Tov) and his students." The title page mentions that in addition a story about R. Moshe Isserles and the Maharsha [R. Samuel Eidels (1555–1631)] . On the verso of the title page is a listing of all those Rabbis who are mentioned in the book.
Another note on the title page mentions that there are also stories of Tannaim and Amoraim from the Talmud and from the Midrash. |
