Detailed
Description
First and perhaps only edition of these Hasidic discourses on the weekly Torah readings by R. Israel ben David Moses Friedman, rebbe of Chortkov. The book was brought to press by R. Israel ben Abraham Rappaport, who also wrote the introduction.

R. Israel ben David Moses Friedman (1854-1934) was so highly regarded trhat R. Meir Shapira of Lublin said of him that “I am fully convinced that if the Messiah were to come no, he would appoint the rebbe of Chortkov to be the king of Israel. R. Friedman was one of the first Hasidic leaders to advocate the establishment of vocational schools. Prior to the founding of Agudah R. Friedman proposed setting up an organization to be called Histadrut ha-Haredim to safeguard the interests of Orthodox Jewry. When Agudah was established it received his full support. R. Friedman also urged his Hasidim to settle in Erez Israel.
