A work on the religious aspects of modesty in Jewish law, with an approbation by R. Moshe Feinstein. He deals specifically with the mehitza (separator) used in synagogues.
The author wrote another volume with a similar title on the laws of the Sabbath(1943), and another on the laws of a kosher etrog (1956). R. Zevi Hirsch Friedman studied at the Kidushat Yom Tov of Sighet (R. Hananiah Yom Tov Lipa of Sighet) and the Arugat ha-Bosem of Hust. He was the Av Bet Din of האטסעג, as noted on the title page, and later resided in Brooklyn. In addition to publishing Zevi Hemed he was the author of Helkenu be-Toretecha (New York, 1951), Ha-Shemesh be-Gevurato (New York, 1940). |
