Detailed
Description
Letter by R. Yohanan b. David Mordecai Twersky (1906-1981) Admor of Talnoye. He was born in Thlchin, Podolia. His mother, Havah, was a descendant of Ruzhyn and Zloczov. In 1924, when he moved to Jerusalem he studied in the Yeshivah Ohel Mosheh under R. Joseph Hayyim Sonnenfeld. In 1929 he married Zipporah, the daughter of R. Moses Langer of Stretyn, Toronto. In 1934, he moved to Montreal, where he was rebbe until his return to Israel in 1953.

He settled in Jerusalem, living first in Rehavia, then in Bayit Vegan. He established a yeshivah in East Jerusalem, near the grave of Simon the Just (Shimon HaTzaddik), and a kollel, Meor Einayim. He published his father's work, Magen David (Tel Aviv, 1960), a photo-reprint of the Zhitomir 1853 edition.
