Description		    Large format introductory work to introduce the novice student to Talmud study by James H. Lowe. There is a Hebrew heading but the text of the title page is in English, stating that it is a Tutorial Preparation for Mishnoh & Gemoro or Talmud without a master, a specimen of easy talmudic dialectics. It describes the author, James H. Lowe, as translator of Civilazation of the East (Prof. Homme), Primitive Man (Prof. Hoernes) and Ethnology (Prof. Haberlandt). Next is a Hebrew introduction from the author, followed by lengthier introductory remarks from Lowe, in which he begins that the work is intended as a tutorial preparation not only for the ordinary Jewish boy but also for the advanced non-Jewish student of rabbinics, presenting a fair specimen of easy Talmudic dialetics. He emphasizes that it is not intended for those who maintain that inthis enlightened age it is not necessary to learn Talmud in the old way, nor does the author believe in the concentrated or tabloid form for learning Talmud. Next is a glossary of Talmudic terms, then abbreviations, notes on language, text, and division, & vocalization. After this introductory matter the actual body of Tutorial Preparation for Mishnoh & Gemoro begins. It starts with the Talmudic text and a facing English translation and then precedes to the explicatory material introducing the student into the sea of the Talmud.
