Description		    Introductory Hebrew book by Hayyim Simeon ben Moses Joshua Neuhausen (1872-1943). The author, born in Dvinsk, died in Cincinnati. The text, primarily in Hebrew, has very small amounts of Cyrillic, primarily as headings and translations of words. Ha-Ivri progresses from presenting the Hebrew consonants, vowels and pronunciations, to basic reading exercises and then more advance, although still simple texts. Reading texts are centered about prayers. Towards the end of the book is more complex material, including an introduction to the ta’amim. This is an unused edition of Ha-Ivri, some pages still being uncut.
