Detailed Description |
|
Psalm 27 on parchment with kabbalistic verses inserted. 27 is recited during the month of Elul through the Yamim Nora'im and Sukkot. The practice apparently began some 200 years ago and is currently an important part of the spiritual preparation for the High Holidays. The recital is generally preceded with the blowing of the shofar (ram's horn) and followed by a mourner's kaddish. |
