Detailed Description |
|
Responsa by R. David Zvi (Tevel) b. Eliakim Goetzal Sehmann (1864-1942) longtime rabbi of Dukla. He was born in Stryj and studied with great Polish rabbis, among the R. Zev Wolf Hammer. He was appointed rabbi of Dukla in 1892 and served until his demise. An erudite scholar, his decisions were sought after by many rabbis and scholars. Some of his responsa was published in Kav Zahav (Munkacz 1899), novellae in Minhat Solet (Bilgoraj-Lublin 1934-37) two volumes. In 1942 the accursed Nazis shaved his beard and killed him in Krosno. |
