Description		    Only edition of this commentary on Proverbs by R. Saadiah ben Nehorai Azubib. The title page is followed by R. Azubib’s introduction, concluding with verse, and an approbation, in the form of an introduction, from R. Israel Kushta and R. Elijah ben Amozeg, and an introduction from Joseh ben Mordecai Azubib who brought the book to press. The text is comprised of Proverbs at the top of the page and Tokhahat Musar below in two columns in rabbinic type. At the end of the volumne, from 87b, are likkutim, primarily on Psalms.

R. Saadiah ben Nehorai Azubib belonged to Algerian rabbinical family prominent in the 17th and 18th centuries. He was author of Tokhahat Musar (Leghorn, 1871), a commentary on Proverbs, and of Limmudei Adonai, an unpublished commentary on Psalms (Mss. Ginsburg, no. 26, Moscow). His novellae on the Talmud are referred to by Judah Ayyash in Lehem Yehudah (1745). Saadiah was among those who banned the books of Nehemiah Hayon, the follower of Shabbetai Zevi. A copy of the ban, with his name at the head of the Algerian signatories, is published in the Milhamah la-Adonai of R. Moses Hagiz (Amsterdam, 1714, 51b).
