Description
Granting a divorce and alimony to a woman whose husband admits beating and abusing her. R. Levi Isaac b. Meshullem Zalman Frankel (Ashkenazi, d. 1864), Rabbi of Bucharest was a descendant of Hasidic rabbis, son in law of R. Jacob Joseph of Mohilev, grandson of the Be'er Mayyim Hayyim, the Degel Mahne Ephraim, the Kedushat Levi, and a brother of R. Samuel Frankel, father in law of the Belzer Rebbe. R. Levi Isaac's father changed the family name to Frankel from Ashkenazi - they were also descendants of the Haham Zevi.
