Poster announcing a speech by a ‘descendant of the Gra Mi-Vilna’ at a synagogue in the Rechavia neighborhood of Jerusalem. R. Eliyahu Landau was a great-great grandson of the Gaon of Vilna and he was the major source for the section pertaining to the Vilna Gaon in Eliezer Rivlin's genealogy "Sefer Hayachas". R. Landau (1873-1946) was born and died in Jerusalem, and was an acknowledged expert on his illustrious forebear. He authored or edited numerous published books, and he also published and republished several times some of the Gaon’s works as well as others connected with his family. |
