| An appeal for modesty in dress.
A totally different approach from the usual polemic, this poster relates a story of the Seer of Lublin which is recorded from a book called Otsar HaSippurim by Tsvi Moskovits. In the story the Seer of Lublin tells of seeing the Baal Shem Tov who ascended to heaven, and upon his return to his followers tells them of seeing the angels building a very large and wide pot. In response to a question of what is this pot, an angel removed the lid and revealed a pot full of arms and legs. The angel explained that shortly before Moshiach comes the arms and legs of those of the generation of the Tower of Babel(whose sin had been heresy and denial of G-d) and those of the generation of the flood (whose sin had been licentiousness) would be brought to Gehinom in this large pot.
The Seer of Lublin continued --the Baal Shem Tov saw this in a vision...and we are seeing this in reality...that these souls are now coming down to this world .
He concluded by praying that Hashem should have mercy on us and all of Israel that we will be able to withstand these great tests.
The poster then concludes that every man should guard the souls of his family and ensure that that are dressed modestly and that they should not, G-d forbid, fall into the awful pot....with those of the generation of the flood. |
