Detailed
Description
Letter to a disciple wishing him a mazel tov upon his engagement and related blessings; followed by three lines (Rebbe's hand) to the in-laws with appropriate blessings. R. Abraham Elimelech b. Israel Perlow (1892-1943), the Admor Karlin-Pinsk; Novominsk, was a noted scholar and rebbe who attracted a large following and became known as the Tzaddik of Karlin. R. Perlow was appointed Admor upon the passing of his father, the Yenaka of Stolin, in 1922. His piety knew no bounds, he swallowed food in chunks so as not to enjoy the taste. On Rosh Hashannah 5699 (1938) he entered the synagogue late and approached the bimah and began to sob uncontrollably. He refused to blow the shofar, as had Mordecai in the times of Haman - where the Jews were ordered to fast on Passover, and asked the congregation to fast and beg the Al-mighty to abort the terrible decree against the Jewish nation. The Rebbe perished in the Holocaust.
