Description		    Letter by R. Judah Aryeh Leib b. Jacob Perlow (1888-1961), Admor of Novominsk/New York. He was ordained by R. Hayyim Soloveichik of Brest-Litovsk, R. Yoav Joshua of Kinsk, and R. Moses Nahum Yerushalims­ky of Kielce. He married his cousin Esther Reizel, the daughter of R. David Twersky of Makarov. For a number of years he was rabbi in Wlodowa, near Brest-Li­tovsk, and in 1924 he settled in New York.

His Bet HaMidrash, on South Ninth Street, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, was one of the outposts of Hasidism in the New World. An erudite rabbinical scholar he was the author of Lev Aryeh HaHadash on Torah and novellae on Talmud (Jerusalem ­1933) and Kol Yehudah (New York 1946).
