Description
Selections from the works of Maimonides (Rambam) together with a biographical overview by M. B. Lubnik. The title page has the heading Biliotheka Katana and the subheading sifrei mikra lebenei ha-na’arim. This is listed a s no. 7. No entry in bibliographic works was seen, however, for this series. This entry on Maimonides contains selections from several books from the Mishneh Torah, namely Sefer Madda, which deals with the articles of faith and such essential verities as the unity of God and His incorporeality; zemannim, which deals with Shabbat and festivals, and Shofetim , the fourteenth and last book of the Mishneh Torah, concerned with the prescriptions concerning the magistrates, the Sanhedrin, the king, and the judges, as well as the duties which they must fulfill and the prerogatives which they enjoy. Other works by Maimonides included here are the Moreh Nevukhim, Maimonides’ philosophical masterpiece, and Iggeret ha-Rambam, letters, actually discourses, written by Maimonides on various subjects. Pages in this copy are uncut.
