Detailed Description |

Group of letters by and addressed to R. Judah Leib Seltzer and R. Samuel A Rubin ion their capacities at the Union of Orthodox Rabbis on contemporary issues. Letters include several from the White House (signed by secretaries) and other official agencies. R. Judah Leib Seltzer (1876-1959) was born in Glusk and educated in Lithuanian yeshivot. He immigrated to the United States in 1901 where he served as rabbi in Bangor, Maine. In 1913 he made aliyah for three years. Upon his return he was appointed to the Union of Orthodox Rabbis and served until 1954 when he returned to Erez Israel.
