Detailed
Description
Letter regarding the establishment of a Beth Jacob school for girls in Kfar Ata by R. Benjamin b. Menahem Mendel Mendelssohn (1904-1979) rabbi of Kfar Ata and Komemiyot. R. Benjamin was born in Plotsk into a family of devout Alexander disciples and educated in the old Polish system. He immigrated to Erez Israel where he was appointed rabbi of Kfar Ata. An erudite scholar he was instrumental in organizing the Va'ad Keren Shevu'ot which pays farmers to leave their field fallow in the Shevu'ot (seventh) year. His name was also involved in the Yoselle Shumacher case, as Yoselle is believed to have been hidden by him.
