Description		    Only edition of this eulogy for R. Samuel (Shemelke) ben Moses Meisels by R. Saul Friedenthal together with R. Meisel’s testament and a eulogy delivered by him. R. Meisels (1781-1855) was a student of R. David Deitsch (Ohel David) and son-in-law of R. Samuel Bak, av bet din Sorun. From 1802 R. Meisels was av bet din of Yala and Bagad. Afterwards he served as av bet din in Telika and afterwards, for thirty-nine years, as rav of Egerszeg. In all of these places he worked to strengthen yeshivot. The title page is in Judeo-German, informing that he had served in rabbinic positions for fifty-two years in various locations, and then giving their locations. The text begins with R. Meisels’ testament, which includes words of Torah which he heard from his grandfather הפלאה. Next is the eulogy of R. Meisels’ son-in-law, R. Saul Friedenthal, rosh bet din Banhart, delivered 25 Sivan 1855. Next is the eulogy delivered by R. Meisels for his father-in-law R. Samuel Bak in 1831. The volume concludes with selections from unprinted works of R. Meisels.
