Detailed
Description
Only edition of this absorbing collection of responsa on the issuance of a get in which the name of the woman was modified by R. Abraham Mordecai ha-Levi Horowitz. The subject matter of the responsa relates to a get arranged by the rabbinate in Tel Aviv in accordance with instructions from outside of Erez Israel. The name of the woman was intentionally changed. This occurrence is so rare that no similar example is to be found in all of rabbinic literature. R. Horowitz, av bet din ha-gadol of the Adat Haredim in Jerusalem strongly objects to this get, marshalling arguments from the breadth of rabbinic literature, Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmuds, rishonim and aharonim, concluding that the get is invalid from the Torah and how to resolve the issue, issuing a second correct get. R. Unterman, Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv defends the get, to which R. Horowitz responds. Among those also consulted is R. Nissim, then Chief Rabbi Erez Israel. Ha-Get mi-Tel-Aviv includes the positions and correspondence of the participants.
