Letter by R. Dov Ber Abramovich (1860-1926), Rabbi of the Suvalk synagogue in New York. R. Dov Ber was born in teh Lita and emigrated to Jerusalem at age 12. He was appointed by R. Samuel Salant as a district rabbi in Jerusalem at a very young age. In 1892 he came to the United States where he served for a time in Philadelphia then at Anshei Suvalk of New York. An erudite scholar he wrote several works and constantly fought Reform and the like. He returned to Erez Israel in 1921. |
