Description		    Only edition. [4], 130 ff. octavo 228:150 mm., usual age staining, wide margins, lacking final page of sponsors. A very good copy bound in contemporary boards, rubbed.
          
Detailed
Description		    Only edition of this work on the weekly Torah readings, festivals, and other subjects by R. Judah ben Isaac Altman (1859-1923). The title page states that the waters of the sea are pleasing, pleasant, and “sweeter than the honeycomb” (cf. Psalms 19:11), more desirable than precious pearls, flowing from channels of awe, from the forests of Lebanon and thestreams of wisdom and knowledge. It describes R. Altman (1859-1923), who was also the author of She'elot u-Teshuvot me-Yehudah (Vacs, c. 1933), as av bet din of Mezocsat and mentions his responsa included in Neta Sheruk by his father-in-law. Yam shel Yehudah was arranged and brought to press by R. Shraga Zevi Altman, av bet din Mezocsat. There are approbations from R. Mordecai Leib Winkler and R. Isaiah Zilberstein followed by the introduction of the author’s son, R. Shraga Zevi Altman. The text, in a single column in square letters is, as stated on the title page, on Torah, festivals, and likkitim. At the end is a lengthy list of the individuals, organized by city, who assisted in publishing Yam shel Yehudah.
