Detailed
Description
Concise Shulhan Arukh in Hebrew with footnotes in Hebrew and Cyrillic for schools. The title page states that it is the laws of Jews and their customs for the entire year in an abridged form, arranged and explained for schools and hedarim (younger classrooms). At the end of the book are tales entitled Hesed ve-Tsedekah from the Talmud and midrashim, punctuated and translated into Hebrew and Russian. This, the third edition, has an added section, Minhagim Tovim, that includes 103 entries from the Talmud and midrash. It lists the price, 50 kopecs. The text follows, set in a single column in vocalized Hebrew, written in an easy, clear and lucid style. The accompanying footnotes explain terms in Hebrew and Cyrillic. This simplified Shulhan Arukh follows the order of the Shulhan Arukh, but in manner designed to instruct small children. Next is the Minhagim Tovim, 103 entries in 35 sections. These concise rules of good conduct are primarily taken from the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmuds, but also from midrashim, Toesfta, and other works. The volume concludes with six edifying stories.
