Description		    Upon the completion of the first anniversary of the existence of an organization (in Kislev 5701) called " Hatamchuy", blessings were bestowed on the organization by a number of diginitaries including R. Yosef Tsvi Dushinsky (1865 - 1948, known as the Maharitz, the Chief Rabbi (Gavad) of the Edah HaChareidis of Jerusalem), R. Zelig Reuven Bengis (1864-1953), the Russian-born Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem for the Edah HaChareidis who wrote a seven-volume commentary on the Talmud, called "Leflagos Reuven"), as well as by representatives of the Agudat Israel worldwide organziation, and R. Moshe Blau, the director of the Agudat Yisrael center in Eretz Israel.
          
Paragraph 2    The purpose of Hatamchuy was establishing "soup" kitchens for the poor of Jerusalem, and especially for the refugees who arrived and need help until they could establish themselves.
