Detailed
Description
One of the most basic branches of physics is mechanics, which studies the effect of all the forms of energy on different forms of matter. Much of the basic theory of mechanics was invented by Sir Isaac Newton in the 17th century. By his theory of gravitation, together with his theory of mechanics, Newton explained how things fall to the ground, how pendulums swing, and how the planets move around the sun.
