Detailed
Description
Rare ethical monograph on those middot that heal the body and soul by R. David ben Mordecai Judah Broda. The text of the title page, written by the author, states life of the body and soul (hayot ha-guf ve-ha-nefesh) which I collected and gathered from the works of the righteous and pious, holy ones, on the subject of middot which are a healing for the body and for the soul with an explanatory introduction. R. Boda relates that he is from Barazna, son of the great Talmudic scholar Mordecai Judah of Muncacz, descended from the great gaon R. Abraham Broda who was rosh mesivta in Metz, Frankfort am Main, and Prague, and most of the contemporary gedolim were his students. There is ans approbation from R. Saul Brach, followed by R. Broda’s introduction. The text is arranged by alphabetically by subject (first letter), beginning with ahavah, Emet ve-Emunah, ecelah, banum, begadim, and concluding with mahshavah. This part of the text is followed by a related discourse. The latter pages are still attached, not having been separated from the time of publication.
